The 6th NEXTSTATION 2017 International Conference on Railway Stations will take place in Madrid, Spain, from 19 to 21 October 2017. This high-profile global railway event on the themes of station development and operations, is being organised by the International Union of Railways, UIC, and the Spanish Rail Infrastructure Manager, Adif.
NEXTSTATION 2017 will be dedicated to the theme “Smart Stations in Smart Cities”. This international event will be the opportunity for high-level speakers and panellists to address all strategic issues related to the creation, development and operation of railway stations, such as digitalization, project development and financing, station management, station and urban planning, the sustainable, eco-friendly railway station, facilities and design, commercial use of station space and services, multimodality, accessibility and security.
The NEXTSTATION 2017 programme will include 2 plenary sessions, 2 round tables and 8 parallel sessions, the main themes being:
- Security and privacy
- Security of stations
- Intelligent facility management
- Accessibility improvement in information era
- New business models in smart stations
- Solutions for integrated mobility
- Innovative management

- New services for customers: practical cases.
