New passenger trains will travel on domestic railways in Kazakhstan by 2020. Recently, the new track was tested for durability on the ground in the Karaganda region. The train can run as fast as 200 kilometers per hour. The distance from Astana to Almaty can be overcome in six hours. Upgraded structure was designed in Spain during four years. Train was assembled in Kazakhstan.
Some 149 modernized cars will be launched by the end of the year. Trains will serve routes ‘Astana-Almaty’ and ‘Almaty-Shymkent’, kazakh-tv.kz informs.
