The Swing trams for Sofia are in production at Pesa’s factory in the Polish city of Bydgoszcz. The manufacturer will deliver a series of five 5-unit trams.
“The Swing tram for Sofia is in production. The contract includes the delivery of 5 low-floor trams. The newest contract is worth EUR 8,5 million. This is the second order for Pesa trams from the city of Sofia.”, representatives of Pesa declared for RailwayPRO.
In 2013, Sofia public transport company, Stolichen Elektrotransport, for the first time selected Pesa for the delivery of 20 low-floor trams. The contract was worth EUR 33,8 Million, including EUR 0,58 Million for diagnosis equipment.
The Swing trams run in Poland (Warsaw, Gdańsk, Szczecin, Bydgoszcz, Toruń), as well as in Hungary, Bulgaria and Russia. Overall, Pesa manufactured and delivered 300 Swing trams.
