Starting with 18 March 2016, a new passenger operator, Der Schnellzug, will launch services on three routes. Initialy, the operator planned to start services in December.
On Line D1, the operator will offer services from Stuttgart to Hamburg via Kassel, Hannover and Bremen, on Line D3 it will offer transport service from Stuttgart to Aache, via Bonn. On Line D2, from Karlsruhe to Dresden via Heilbronn and Nuremberg , Der Schnellzug cannot offer transport services on Heilbronn – Grötzingen – Karlsruhe owned by Albtal-Verkehrsgesellschaft mbH (AVG), as the two sides fail to agree.
