Novocherkassk Electric Locomotive Building Plant, NEVZ, a Transmashholding subsidiary, has delivered to the Russia’s largest Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) NPM2M industrial locomotive No 14.
Class NPM2M locomotive is an upgraded version of class NPM2 industrial e-locomotive. The major changes have affected electronic assemblies that received a new element base, including intelligent drivers with built-in short-circuit and surge voltage protection, as well as power-failure control. Moreover, locomotive has got more reliable (as compared with previous version) 4500V high-power transistors of 45th class with 30% higher safe operating area.
