Tests are carried out in Utrecht, and helloGo app will allow passengers to plan, book and buy their travel tickets using their mobile phones for all available transport means: train, bus, taxi, bicycle and car rental. After undergoing tests, Keolis transport company, the project initiator, will launch this app first of all in Utrecht Province (one of the crowded in the country with 1.2 million passengers) and then at national level.
helloGo will combine different transport modes to provide passengers with the best selection of routes, considering the travel speed, a lower level of pollution, as well as the price per journey. Thus, the app allows users to plan, book and pay for the ticket at the same time. They can pay for the ticket in advance instead of separately for each transport mode. Moreover, passengers can select the best route for the required distance and can store the routes they use frequently.
The app has been developed with the support of Keolis Nederland, 9292 travel planning application, Netherlands Railways (NS), Gogido, LeisureKing, MyWheels companies and taxi booking web sites, taxiboeken.nl.
The launch of the helloGo application allows Keolis Group to develop their international innovation strategy. Keolis has already established strategic partnerships with a series of digital startups to develop mobility solutions and, in the end, to customize the public transport offer.
Keolis plans to introduce the helloGo application in other European countries in which they signed concession contracts to provide public transport services.
