Under a study undertaken in the spring of 2016, the Community of Metros (CoMet) placed Moscow Metro in top-three leading metro systems in the world in providing passenger information in real-time. The experts studied various operation lines on 21 metro systems all over the world and also assessed the level of passengers’ satisfaction with these carrier operators. In total, they processed about 46,500 responses.
The Moscow Metro was included in this study for the first time and took one of the leading positions in informing passengers in real-time mode. “The CoMet independent association received and processed the opinions of 5,018 locals and tourists on the Moscow Metro operation,” said Roman Latypov, First Deputy Director for Strategic Development and Client Relations.
The Moscow Metro informs passengers through Twitter, the Telegram channel and the Moscow Metro mobile app. Thanks to these resources, passengers can receive operational information on changes in intervals between trains, station hours, and much more.
According to experts’ opinion, the Istanbul and Brussels metro systems are the best at informing passengers on-line. They were rated first and second, respectively. The Moscow Metro was left behind its counterparts in New York, Berlin, Hong Kong and other metropolitan cities.
