Montecargo could see increase in profit in 2017

Montenegrin rail cargo operator Montecargo’s profit is expected to climb to 1.5 million euros in 2017 from 110,000 euros in 2016, according to CEO Milivoje Pavicevic.
The company has a five-year agreement for the transport of cargo with Montenegrin mining group Uniprom Metali and a three-year deal for the handling cars with Fiat-Chrysler Automobili Srbija (FCA). Montecargo estimates the annual revenue from the transport of Fiat cars to stand at 1.5 million euros and expects an additional income of 1.5 million euros per year from the handling of steel produced at Serbian mill Zelezara Smederevo.
The operator also has signed agreements for the transport of grain from Serbia to the port of Bar, Albania and Montenegro, of acids from the plant of Serbian chemicals group MSK Kikinda, of scrap from Serbia to a plant in Elbasan, Albania, as well as of salt port for road maintenance in Serbia from Bar.
