The aggregate volume of Moldova’s railway, road, river and air freight traffic grew by 13.2%, reaching 2.52 million tonnes in the first three months of 2017. Calculated in freight tonne-kilometres (FTK), traffic increased by 19.9% to some 934.2 million FTK in the first quarter of 2017.
Rail freight traffic grew by 31.3% to 985.300 tonnes, while road freight traffic increased by 4.6% to 1.5 million tonnes.
In March, the total volume of Moldova’s freight traffic was 13.7% higher than in March 2016, reaching 1.2 million tonnes.
