Milwaukee Department of Public Works (DPW) has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) to procure a construction manager – general contractor to provide preconstruction and construction services for the Milwaukee Tramway Project Phase 1 and the Lakefront Line extension.
The contract covers the first 4 km downtown segment of the tram system and the additional Lakefront Line extension. The proposals have to be submitted until June 1st.
The winner will be responsible for all construction activities, including installing rail, the overhead contact system and streetcar stops, as well as building an operations and maintenance facility.
The value of the Phase 1 and Lakefront extension is USD 128 million, of which the Phase 1 is USD 98.9 million.
By December 2017, Brookville Equipment Corp will have to deliver the trams.
