The Miami-Dade Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) Governing Board officially adopted and endorsed the Strategic Miami Area Rapid Transit (SMART) Plan that proposes to advance six Rapid Transit Corridors along with a network system of Bus Express Rapid Transit (BERT) service.
The LRTs includes the North Corridor, the Beach Corridor, East-West Corridor, TriRail Coastal Link, and Kendall Corridor.
The MPO will work with Fiscal Priorities Committee (FPC) to determine the costs and potential sources of funding for project development and environment studies for the projects, and to also take all necessary steps to implement the SMART Plan.
