Metrowagonmash (MWM), part of Transmashholding, has delivered the last eight-car train of model 81-760/761 Oka to the Moscow Metro. The train was delivered under a contract signed in March 2014. Under the contract, the Moscow Metro obtained 83 trains of Oka type consisting of eight cars (totally 664 cars). In addition, the contract provides for the maintenance of the rolling stock by Metrowagonmash in the course of the full life cycle.
The model 81-760/761 cars are fitted with HVAC and video surveillance system that is capable of transmitting images to the situation center. They are equipped with state-of-the-art asynchronous traction drive, microprocessor-based control system, bogies ensuring smooth and noiseless train ride. The car bodies are manufactured of stainless steel.
The supply of cars from the series Oka to the Moscow Metro is completed. In future, cars of the new series 81-765/766/767 Moskva will be produced for Moscow’s metro system. In the period from 2017 to 2020, 768 new Moskva cars will be produced. The start of deliveries is planned for February 2017.
