“Works on Drumul Taberei – Râul Doamnei – Valea Ialomiței section, part of Line 5, are 80% completed. The commissioning deadline has been established for the first quarter of 2017 and the first metro trains could run on this section as of June 2017”, said Minister of Transport, Dan Costescu, while presenting the balance sheet for the first six months of the year of the companies subordinated to the ministry.
The last two stations on Line 4 (Laminorului and Lac Străulești) are completed and will be operational at the end of the year. The construction permit for Străulești Multimodal Terminal has been released and construction works to this new terminal have been launched.
The documents necessary to the approval through Government Decision of the technical-economic indicators for the metro Line 6 (Bucharest – “Henry Coanda” International Operator Otopeni) have been completed.
It is estimated that the technical-economic indicators could be approved during the government reunion of June.
The elaboration of the application for the co-financing of the project using foreign non-reimbursable funds through the Operational Programme Large Infrastructure (POIM) has also been launched.
Construction works to the metro Line 6 to Otopeni Airport will begin in the second quarter of 2017 and will take 48 months, said Metrorex in March 2016.
