This year, Metra will launch works to modernize 27 stations, 21 bridges and 24 road crossings. The company and its railway partners announced plans to begin infrastructure improvements to its stations, track, bridges and road crossings to ensure safe and reliable service and maintain a state of good repair systemwide.
“Our goal is to be as efficient as possible with the resources we have and limit the impact of construction activity on our customers,” Metra CEO Don Orseno said.
Improvements are planned for stations including along the Metra Electric, Milwaukee North, Milwaukee West lines.
