Ukrainian steelmaker Metinvest plans to purchase 800 railcars by the end of 2017 and 1,000 more railcars in 2018. After these purchases, Metinvest’s fleet of railcars will reach 4,000 units, the company said. The company’s decision to purchase railcars is related to the worsening deficit of rolling stock in Ukraine. According to market analysts, the estimated price per one gondola railcar is USD 34-38,000 + VAT.
