LTG Link signs contract for smart ticketing system development

ticketing systemLTG Link, the Lithuanian Railways passenger transport company, signed a contract with Fortevento, operating under a joint management agreement and with Estonian enterprise Turnit on the launch a new ticketing system.

From this autumn, the train tickets will become available for the users through a mobile ticketing app, on the updated website and at the ticket vending machines available at railway stations.
The new ticketing system will be acquired on the software as a service (SaaS) basis. The agreement is signed for the period of 5 years, with a maximum value of EUR 7 million.

“This innovation will provide a significantly better customer experience – the travel tickets will become available easier and faster,” Linas Baužys, the CEO of LTG Link said.

The new ticketing system will change the ticket acquisition and the way passengers can review their travel planning. Through a personal account, a passenger can purchase tickets and will be able to review its data planning, to receive major change notifications, using LTG Link’s dynamic pricing offers. The customer will be also part of a loyalty programme. The rail passenger operator says that in the future plans to integrate the mobile app with the other transport systems to provide passengers a door–to–door travel.

“If we know our customers better, understand their needs and habits, we will be able to create and develop our services more effectively. The new ticketing system will be adjusted for all passengers, including to those with individual needs”, Linas Baužys explains.

In the last eight years, the Estonian company Turnit has built and improved its cloud-based ticket reservation solution and it is currently used by more than 40 operators, including Transdev, Vy Group, Lux Express, Eurolines. Turnit has developed a “platform that offers customer experience through all modern sales channels – the mobile app, website, vending machines, ticket offices and on board sales module, while guaranteeing the highest level of data security,” Andres Osula, the CEO of Turnit said.
