Kosovo Railways Infrastructure will use an EBRD loan for the rehabilitation and upgrading of Kosovo Rail Route 10, 148 km long, from the border with Serbia in northern Kosovo (near Leshak station) to the border with FYR Macedonia in the southern Kosovo (Hani i Elezit station). The project will be implemented in three phases and consists of the rehabilitation of Fushe Kosove – FYR Macedonia border rail section, Fushe Kosove – Mitrovice section and Mitrovice – Serbia border section.
The project has a total estimated cost of EUR 196 million and tendering for the Fushe Kosove – FYR Macedonia border (Phase 1) is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2016.
