Kosovo Railways Infrastructure Company (INFRAKOS) intends using part of the proceeds of a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to rehabilitate the Southern Part of Railway Route 10 (FusheKosove – Hani iElezit).
Thus, INFRAKOS intends prequalifying firms and consortia to tender for Rail Route 10 rehabilitation project. The closing date for the offers is May 19.
Rail Route 10 presents the existing railway line in total length of 252 km with general orientation Kraljevo (Serbia)-Pristine (Kosovo)-GorcePetrov (FYR Macedonia). The railway line is crossing Kosovo at a length of 148 km starting from Leshak at the Serbian border end ending at Hani iElezit, border with FYR Macedonia.
Subject of the prequalifying tender is the rehabilitation of the southern part of Railway Route 10 between FusheKosove and Hani iElezit, which corresponds to an overall length of roughly 66 km.
The contract will not be subdivided into lots and consists of the following main elements:
Tracks incl. ballasting (main line): 57.8 km
Tracks incl. ballasting (stations): 8.1 km
Signaling and telecommunication (main line & stations): 65.9 km
Railway bridges (new and rehabilitation of existing): (total length approx. 0.8 km)
Road level crossings
Tunnels (widening and rehabilitation of existing): (total length approx. 1.0 km)
Culverts
Railway stations: 8
The envisaged time for construction is 36 months from commencement of works. The design of the railway line allows for its electrification, although the electrification is not part of the current tender.
Prequalification and tendering for contracts to be co-financed with the proceeds of a loan from the EBRD, EIB and a grant from Western Balkan Investment Fund (WBIF) is open to firms and joint ventures of firms from any country.
