More than USD 200 million will be spent on the development of mining industry in the Kazakh city of Zhezkazgan, the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev said at the commissioning ceremony opening two new railway branches- Zhezkazgan-Beineu and
„I ordered the government to develop a special program under the Economic Development of Zhezkazgan industrial region. Some $240 million were allocated for resettlement in other places from the villages standing on the ore bodies,” the President said.
