The Swiss Transport Federal Office and Italian railway infrastructure manager RFI have signed the agreement on the financing, design and necessary changes for the 4-m high semi-trailers to be carried by railway between Switzerland and Novara/Busto Arsizio. Switzerland will contribute by EUR 120 Million to develop these works.
The agreement was signed following the bilateral agreement concluded by the two countries this January. The document defines the technical requirements and the methods to supervise works. Works should be completed by 2020.
