Italferr will be responsible for the new monorail of Genoa, as in the form of a Temporary Association of Companies (TAC), has won the tender launched by the Municipality of Genoa and shall commence the technical and economic feasibility project for the works.
The monorail will connect the future railway station of Erzelli with the Technology Park (hospital and university).
The project consists of a lifted monorail type system, with a length of 2.3 km and a downline station connected to the railway station. The line will be designed for a future expansion to Cristoforo Colombo airport with two new stations at the summit of the Erzelli hill. A depot and control center are also planned to be constructed.
The line will provide connection to the existing transport system creating a sustainable mobility.
