The Indonesian government is reviewing 20 infrastructure projects, opening room to cancellation of projects that are deemed not on its priority list. The Minister for National Development and Planning Andrinof Chaniago has confirmed that one of the cancelled projects is the high-speed rail corridor development between Jakarta and Surabaya, because it is not economically feasible. However, if there is an interest from the private sector, the project may be continued in the future, provided the private investors bring sufficient financial capital for the construction of the high speed line.
