Incheon Airport opens maglev line

Incheon-Korea_7437aa53-5374-4f0e-a7a7-dcf5bdd37307A new maglev system has opened at Incheon International Airport, South Korea. The Won 414.9bn (USD342m) project was financed by the Korean Government (69%), the city of Incheon (5%), Incheon International Airport Corporation (19%) and private investors (7%).
Developed by the Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials (KIMM) and Hyundai Rotem, the maglev has a top speed of 110 km/h.
The system was co-developed by Hyundai Rotem and the Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials and has only two stations, Incheon International Transport Center and Yongyoo Tourist Complex Station, with trains reaching speeds of up to 110km/h.
Services operate at 15-minute intervals and no fares are charged for travel on the line.
