Hyundai Rotem was awarded a USD 322 million contract for the supply of 50 driverless trains to Seoul which will be delivered by 2024. Under the contract, Hyundai Rotem will also supply the needed equipment for an automated LRT such as communication system, and power equipment, including platform screen doors.
The line will have a length of 13.4 km and 16 stations and will be completed by 2024. It offers transport connection in northeastern part of Seoul, linking Seongdong and Nowon-gu districts.
