Electroputere VFU-Reloc Craiova, part of Grampet Group, and Astra Arad have created a consortium to participate in the tender for the modernisation of Budapest metro cars.
The maximum value of modernisation works is estimated at around EUR 205 Million. The Romanian consortium has submitted the documents for the first phase of the tender which is now in the pre-qualification phase. The next phase is the negotiation of the contract and the selection of the winner.
The pre-qualification phase will be finalised by the end of January.
Other six bidders are in competition with the Grampet Group-Astra Arad consortium, among which Alstom, Czech manufacturer Skoda, and companies from Russia and Hungary.
