RZD has suggested that the German Initiative consortium comprising several large companies should participate in the construction of a Eurasia high-speed railway to build a RUB 2.86 trillion (EUR 40.9 billion) segment between Moscow and Berlin, a source close to negotiations said, quoted by Prime agency . The German Initiative earlier said it may participate in construction and financing of the project.
RZD is preparing to build a 9,447-km high-speed railway to connect China’s Urumqi to European railways through Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan. According to RZD’s presentation, the Moscow-Berlin segment of the railway will have 1,852 kilometers.
