Georgian Railway has signed a contract for the acquisition of 4 passenger double-deck Stadler Kiss trains. Two trains have already been delivered and after the successful completion of the testing program, the company plans to commission them in July 2016.
The acquisition is financed through an Export Credit facility. For the first two trains, the 10-year loan facility will total USD 24,495 million.
In 2017 the remaining two trains are expected to be bought with the same financing scheme and loan amount.
