Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane and the University of Naples Federico II agree on the creation of FS Mobility Academy which will promote scientific and technological research and train highly specialized professionals in the field of integrated mobility and transport.
The postgraduate training course aimed at 50 Italian and foreign students with degrees in engineering or business disciplines.
“With FS Mobility Academy we want to create a group of young talent highly specialized, with professional, technical, and scientific skills essential for working in the infrastructure and mobility sectors, characterized by strong technological progress and dynamism. To face present and future challenges we are aware we have to invest in training excellence in younger generations. Only this way can we be competitive, in step with the labour market and innovation promoters,” Renato Mazzoncini, CEO of FS Italiane said.
FS Mobility Academy expects a full-time commitment of 9 months from all selected participants, starting from October 2018, with the possibility of on-the-job training through internships within the FS Group of companies, domestic or foreign. The classroom sessions will alternate with stints in the field, the elaboration of project work, research laboratories with the use of digital technologies, and moments of comparison and analysis with testimonies from the business world.
“Didactic innovation, multidisciplinary integration, and experiential training will allow the development of new professional skills in the field of mobility. The digital revolution will have a new state-of-the-art facility in the San Giovanni Polo of Federico II: the FS Mobility Academy,” Gaetano Manfredi, Rector of the University of Naples Federico II said.
