Starting 30 January, FS Italiane will once again own 100% of Centostazioni, due to the concluded deal with Archimede 1 (Save Group) for the remaining 40% stake.
The operation, authorised by the Italian Competition Authority (AGCM), was carried out by FS Italiane with a payment of EUR 65.6 million.
“For FS strategies this is a decisive step towards creating a network of Smart Stations, more than 600 stations managed by a single owner, which is destined to become the beating heart of a system of integrated mobility infrastructures and services, as set out in our 2017-2026 Business Plan,” Renato Mazzoncini, CEO of FS Italiane said.
The stations will thus become intermodal hubs with bus terminals, parking lots, car rental, car/bike sharing and electric car charging points, capable of offering useful accessory services and new functions, from temporary office space to start-up incubators.
