On February 20, the Iranian Railways has announced that the French Railway delegation from SNCF and some members of the Islamic Parliament of Iran have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for Cooperation in Tehran.
The main aspect of this Memorandum of Understanding is the creation of 6 working groups in the areas of high-speed lines, passenger services, suburban railway lines, consultations on the renewal of the rail infrastructure, crisis management and railway equipment.
SNCF will also support the Iranian Railways in their restructuration and organisation procedures.
This MoU was inked after the agreements reached during the visit of Iranian President Hassan Rohani in 2016 in France.
