The Spanish Development Ministry announced that it has received five proposals to establish a Ro-La transport service to and from France. In Spain, the proposals were submitted by CAF, one of the Spanish rolling stock manufacturers, Civenssy, a consultancy company and Stadler Rail Valencia. In turn, France received proposals from CargoBeamer, a logistics provider for the railways and Lohr, a French group specialized in the design and marketing of freight transport systems.
The two governments in Madrid and Paris will analyze these proposals, which, in addition to technical specifications for railcars and terminals, also include details of operating costs. These will form the basis for a call to express interest in the Ro-La service to be launched this autumn.
