Salini Impregilo – NRW Joint Venture was selected as preferred bidder to design, construct and maintain the Forrestfield-Airport Link. The JV is made up of Salini Impregilo S.p.A. and NRW Pty Ltd.
The Public Transport Authority will now enter into negotiations with Salini Impregilo – NRW Joint Venture to finalise the contract by May. The construction of the CAD 2 billion (EUR 1.3 billion) project will begin later this year and the first trains are expected to run on the line in 2020.
“We envisage the contractor will mobilise on site in the coming months. Planning for this transformational project is well advanced, ” Transport Minister Dean Nalder said.
The other shortlisted proponents were Forrestfield Connect (ACCIONA Infrastructure, BAM International and Ferrovial Agroman) and JHL JV (John Holland and Leighton Contractors).
