EUR 46.5 million of EU funds for a rail project in Czech Republic

SZDCThe European Commission has approved four major projects aiming at improving transport infrastructures in the Czech Republic, with a total contribution of EUR 324.2 million from the Cohesion Fund and the European Regional Development Fund.
One of the project, the modernization of the railway line Tábor–Sudoměřice u Tábora, is part of the planned upgrading of the whole national Czech railway, from Prague to Horní Dvorište at the Austrian border (Transit corridor IV), which is part of the trans-European transport network (TEN-T). The modernization will allow trains to reach speeds of up to 160km/h. The EU contribution is almost EUR 46.5 million.
The other three major projects concern road infrastructure.
