Société des grands projets (SGP) awarded the joint venture of NGE and Webuild a EUR 1.38 billion contract to construct Lot 2 of the Paris Line 15 West section of the Grand Paris Express.
The joint venture will design and build 4 underground stations, 7 km of tunnels to excavate using TBMs and 6 functional structures included between the Pont de Sèvres and Saint – Denis Pleyel stations. Works will be carried out by Webuild in joint venture with NGE, Equans France and TSO. Under the contract, Bécon-les-bruyères, Bois-Colombes, Les Agnettes and Les Grésillons stations will be built.
Société des grands projets says that the work schedule provides for entry into service at the end of 2031 for this section from Bécon-les-Bruyères station to Saint-Denis – Pleyel station.
The Paris Line 15 West section 15 will be 22.4 km long with 11 stations running from Pont de Sèvres to Saint to Denis Pleyel, crossing 14 communities with 800,000 inhabitants.
This section will be built considering eco-design principles and those for reducing the environmental impact of works during the construction phase and when they will be used. Construction concrete with lower carbon content will be used, and more generally, materials with a low environmental impact will be chosen over others such as bio-based, recycles, local and regional. Energy consumption control will be ensured with the energy recovery of the plants and technical equipment, as well as trains break and slow down, and lighting and ventilation will also be optimized. Vegetation will play a significant role for the stations, as it will guarantee biodiversity: in fact, 50% of the trees used will be native species and the roofing will include greenery.
This section will connect Pont de Sèvres and Saint-Denis – Pleyel in 25 minutes compared to 52 minutes today. The line will have connections with three metro lines (1, 9 and 13) with tram lines T1, T2, Transilien trains J, L, U, RER A, C, D and E, as well as the bus network which will multiply the possibilities of journeys and projects.
“This latest design-build contract is the culmination of precise, rigorous and determined work by the SGP teams in charge of procurement. The use of design-construction to complete the construction of Line 15 combined with the excellent work of our teams who carried out the different stages of competitive dialogue with the candidate companies, allows us to secure complete commissioning of the line,” Jean-François Monteils, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Société des Grands Projets said.
In the last five years, Société des grands projets carried out the design and construction contract procedures necessary for the completion of Line 15.
Line 15 will be 75 km and will be France’s longest metro line.
