Bulgarian Minister of Transport announced that the Bulgarian Government has received the approval of the European Commission for granting the state-aid to BDZ Holding.
In June, the Ministry of Transport has asked the Commission to approve the transfer of BGN 170 Million (EUR 87 Million) from the state budget to BDZ. Funds will be used, together with the railway company’s own resources, to rescheduling payments for a credit of EUR 120 Million. The approval has been granted because the loan has been contracted before accessing the EU.
The Ministry of Transport announced that, after getting the approval, it will hold a meeting with BDZ creditors to discuss the possibility of rescheduling the railway holding’s debts, Transport Minister Nikolina Angelkova said.
