According to the press, the minister of transport, Dan Ťok, is set to demand the cancellation of a tender launched by Czech Railways to purchase new trains worth over CZK 10 billion (EUR 370 million). In the minister’s opinion, the tender process has been designed to exclude foreign firms by setting criteria that can be met by only one company, Škoda Transportation.
Minister Dan Ťok is also considering making changes in the board of directors of Czech Railways in connection with the competition and other matters.
