The Czech railway infrastructure administrator SŽDC improved parameters of the railway line from Hranice na Moravě to Střelná in the sections Valašské Meziříčí – Jablůnka and Vsetín – Horní Lideč. The main objective of the project was achieving a technical state corresponding to EU parameters and standards.
The construction included adaptations of the railway superstructure and substructure, platforms, railway crossings, bridges and parts of the catenary. In connection to the railway superstructure exchange, electrical heating of switches was dealt with as well to assure higher safety and operation functionality especially in winter. Safety and signalling equipment and local cables were also renewed.
The total estimated costs of the construction were CZK 645 million (EUR 23.8 million). The project is co-financed by the European Union from its Cohesion Fund under the Operational Programme Transport up to a maximum amount of CZK 477 million (EUR 17.6 million ).
