A fleet 10 regional EMUs for Zagreb have been delivered by Končar completing the first phase of an order placed by Croatian Railways (HŽ). Croatian Railways ordered 44 vehicles worth 1.63bn Croatian Kuna (EUR 214 million) for delivery by 2017.
Domestic manufacturer Končar is supplying HŽ’s passenger subsidiary HŽPP with 10 160km/h trains for Dugo Selo – Zagreb – Savski Marof services. Each four-car set accommodates up to 505 passengers, 133 of them seated, and the trains are equipped with passenger Wi-Fi and a GPS passenger information system.
