Croatia’s railway passenger operator HZ Putnicki Prijevoz has put into regular traffic its first diesel electric train. The train is the first of 44 trains procured from local producer Koncar Elektricna Vozila. The value of the contract signed in 2014 is 1.63 billion kuna (214 million euros).
Koncar Elektricna Vozila is expected to deliver 32 electric and 12 diesel-electric trains to HZ Putnicki Prijevoz by February 2017. To date, Koncar has supplied HZ Putnicki Prijevoz with 10 regional trains and 6 trains for the urban rail system, while two more trains are expected to be delivered by March.
