Singapore’s transport authority, LTA, awarded the John Holland – McConnell Dowell South East Asia Joint Venture a USD 186 million (SGD 265.4 million) for the construction of three Jurong Region Line stations and the associated viaducts spanning 2.3 km.
Construction works are expected to start later this year and it is expected to be completed in 2026.
The Tengah Plantation station will serve the future residential developments in Tengah New Town area, while Tengah Park station will serve the existing residential developments along Bukit Batok Road and will also cater to students and staff of several educational institutions nearby, including Dulwich College which is adjacent to the station and Millennia Institute.
The Bukit Batok West station will serve existing residential and commercial developments within the Bukit Batok West and Yuhua areas, including educational institutions, places of worship and parks.
This year, LTA also awarded the contracts for the construction of four stations as well as the contract for the supply of 62 three-car driverless trains.
