An alliance including CPB Contractors (part of CIMIC Group), Lendlease, WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff, Aurecon, LXRA and Metro Trains Melbourne won a contract for rail level crossing removal in Melbourne. The contract was granted by the Level Crossing Removal Authority for the design and construction of the Level Crossing Removal Project Caulfield to Dandenong.
The project will remove nine level crossings between Caulfield and Dandenong in Melbourne’s south eastern suburbs, as well as rebuild five railway stations. Construction is scheduled to commence in mid 2016. Works will be completed in 2018.
“This project is delivering a sustainable transport solution for Victoria and is another example of the opportunities arising from government initiatives to improve community infrastructure,” CIMIC Group Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Marcelino Fernandez Verdes said.
“Our Alliance team brings strong capabilities and complementary areas of experience. Our partnership will ensure the project achieves its objectives to deliver improved safety, reduced traffic congestion and greater rail network efficiency,” CPB Contractors Managing Director Roman Garrido said.
