CFL cargo Deutschland GmbH purchased certified green electricity from Stadtwerke Tübingen GmbH, enabling the introduction of 100 percent renewable, clean electricity for all of its trains.
The move allows environmentally friendly operation for of up to 3,250 block trains that are annually running in Germany. The company has shift towards sustainable traction providing exclusively green electricity generated by wind and hydro assets.
This measure is another commitment towards saving around 19,000 tonnes of CO2, compared to the average German electricity mix.
