Starting May, P.Ø Scandex is daily using the Lyon – Bettembourg and Ghent and Zeebrugge connections for CFL trains. The new connections are provided under a partnership agreed in 2016 through a joint organisation of first and last miles to/from the intermodal terminals in Lyon and Bettembourg.
The aim of P.Ø Scandex and CFL multimodal is to increase the flexibility and speed of road transport to/from the terminals and to gain new markets from the Rhône-Alpes region to Northern Europe and in particular to Germany. A second pillar of the collaboration is the promotion of the railway connection between Luxembourg (Bettembourg – Dudelange) and China (Chengdu). The objective of CFL multimodal is to start a weekly rotation from mid-2019 and a comprehensive door-to-door logistics offer to train customers.
P.Ø Scandex and CFL multimodal are convinced that this cooperation, which focuses on the quality of
intermodal door-to-door delivery, will enable them to attract new industrial customers on trains.
