Czech Railways (CD) officially presented the Siemens Vectron locomotive for EuroCity Line Praha – Hamburg, operated in cooperation with ČD and DB.
This year, the operator signed a 10-year agreement to rent 10 Vectron locomotives from European Locomotive Leasing. Starting December, the vehicles will be deployed on EC trains in the Prague – Dresden / Leipzig section, and from the summer of 2018 onwards throughout the Prague – Berlin – Hamburg / Kiel route.
“Thanks to the modernization line and the locomotive of the Vectron use, the travel time between the two metropolises will be reduced to about 4 hours from the summer of 2018,” Czech Railways said.
