A consortium led by Bulgaria’s Trace Group Hold signed a BGN 63.5 million (USD 35.6 million/EUR 32.5 million) deal with state-owned National Railway Infrastructure Company for rehabilitation of a 26.1 km long railway section.
The project, financed under the EU’s Operational Programme Transport 2014-2020, should be completed within two years, Trace Group Hold said in a filing with the Sofia bourse.
The section between the villages of Skutare and Orizovo is part of the railway linking Bulgaria’s second-biggest city of Plovdiv with the Black Sea port of Burgas.
The projects include the reconstruction of three railway stations. Trace Group Hold has 34% interest in the tie-up, while the other two companies hold a combined 66%.
