„2016 is a very important year for ransport sector in Bulgaria”, Minister of Transport, Information Technologies and Communications, Ivaylo Moskovski, said at the opening of the rehabilitated Burgas railway station.
“There are several conceptually important things to be done in transport sector for being balanced and to launch new trains on the new infrastructure which will be fully constructed by the middle of 2016 in South Bulgaria. We are in a preparatory stage. This year we must settle debts of the Bulgarian State Railways (BDZ) and we know how to do this. We have a procedure which will literally start in a week through the concessions of Sofia Airport, Plovdiv Airport, and Gorna Oryahovitsa Airport. The money we will collect from the concessions will be used to pay off all BDZ debts, which will enable us to open a procedure for buying new trains,” Minister Moskovski noted.
In his words, there is still more to be done for the transport in Burgas as general investments run to BGN 100 million (EUR 51 million).
