A direct rail link between Budapest’s Liszt Ferenc International Airport and Kőbánya-Kispest, the southern terminus of metro line 3, would make the capital’s airport more accessible from Budapest as well as from other big cities around the country, according to a new feasibility study.
The line would not only be accessible from the M3 terminus, but also from big cities such as Debrecen and Szeged, avoiding a trip into the center of the capital.
According to the Ministry of National Development, the project would involve the upgrade of an existing rail line between the M3 terminus and Monor, southeast of the capital, that would circle around the airport.
