Serbian Minister of Transport Zorana Mihajlovic expects that the agreement on further modernization of the Belgrade-Bar railway line would be signed in 2017.
“If we want to travel to Hungary at 160 km/h, we need to be able to develop 110 km/h towards Nis,” Mihajlovic said.
For Belgrade-Nis line modernisation, at the beginning of the year, Serbia’s infrastructure manager signed a EUR 24 million contract with China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC). The company will modernise Rasputnica G – Rakovica – Resnik section of the main line.
We remind that in January Russia and Serbia have signed a Protocol amending the export credit agreement that involves the extending of the USD 800 million credit line for railway projects. Among the targeted projects is the modernisation of Belgrade – Budapest railway line.
