North section of Beijing Metro Line 16 was opened, being the MTR Corporation’s fourth metro project in Beijing.
This 19.6 km section of the new line runs through Haidian District in northwestern Beijing, featuring nine stations with a connection to Beijing Metro Line 4 at Xiyuan Station.
When the remaining section is completed, Line 16 will have a total route length of 49.8 km and 29 stations, stretching from Beianhe to Wanping Town and running through three major districts namely Haidian , Xicheng and Fengtai.
