TMH has completed its contract for Series 81-765.B/766.B metro cars for Baku Metro. Between 2020 and 2023 the rolling stock manufacturer has shipped 12 five-car (60 metro cars) to Baku that entered operation.
In terms of engineering, design and comfort the metro cars for Baku meet all current global industry standards. They feature a number of cutting-edge engineering solutions, such as the seamless pass-through design, enlarged doorways that speed up the boarding and disembarkation of passengers, a door opening-closing light warning system, the adaptive interior lighting synchronized with the time of the day, and USB chargers.
Exclusively for Baku Metro, an original color scheme was developed, the headlight design was customised and an onboard passenger information system was adapted to the local environment. The rolling stock is equipped with improved noise and heat insulation and an automatic air disinfection system with UV filters providing additional protection against microorganisms.
The head cars are equipped with seats for passengers with limited mobility, as well as areas for wheelchairs and bicycles.
TMH plant in Mytishi (Metrowagonmash, MWM) is a metro car competence centre that annually modernises its production lines, improves technological processes, automates and robotises production, following the latest transport engineering trends.
The contract for the 60 metro cars was signed in late 2019 by Baku Metro and Metrovagonmash. The company have been cooperating with TMH since 1967 and received 380 metro cars manufactured in Mytishchi.
